1、紙張的選用：最好使用品質優良，白色的信紙。信封要配合信紙的質料和顏色。

2、書寫：求職者常需用親手寫信，字體要寫得清潔可辯，龍飛鳳舞的字跡無疑是自尋絕路。如果可能的話，使用打字機把信打出來。這樣看起來比較具有商業氣息。

3、格式：信文要適當地排列在信紙中，格式要一致，如採用齊頭式（或斜線式）便需全部一致，不可中途改變
