1. leave (離開；退出)。

通常用於下列短語中： leave some place (離開某地)， leave for some place (離開到某地)， leave school (退學)。注意： school leaver 指“畢業生”。如：

My grandfather has left for Beijing already.

2. leave (遺留；遺忘)。通常用於如下結構中： leave sth / sb a《www．》t home (把某物遺忘在家；把某人留在家)， leave sth / sb behind (留下；遺落)。如：

I left my English book at home once more.

我又一次把英語書遺落在家裏。

3. leave (聽任其在某處；使保持某狀態)。通常用於一些複合結構中，如：“ leave+ 賓語+形容詞 / 分詞 / 不定式等”以及短語 leave … alone (不理會；不管)。如：

The teacher left little Tom standing all the time.

老師讓小湯姆一直站着。

4. leave (留下；剩下)。如：

His only relative died， leaving him nothing.

注意：分詞 left 作定語時，要放在所修飾的詞後面，如果要用前置定語，則可以使用 remaining .如：

常用於以下短語： leave word (留信息)， leave a message (留言；留口信)。如：
