一、前言

1. 課程的性質、目的和任務

大學英語教學是以英語語言知識與應用技能、學習策略和跨文化交際為主要內容,以外語教學理論為指導,並集多種教學模式和教學手段為一體的教學體系。

大學英語的教學目標是培養學生英語綜合應用能力, 同時增強其自主學習能力、提高綜合文化素養,以適應我國經濟發展和國際交流的需要。

本課程的教學對象是全校非英語專業一年級本科學生,在第一學期開設,共63學時,其中理論授課42學時,實驗21學時。教學重點在於夯實學生在英語讀寫譯方面的基礎技能,為後續課程的學習奠定良好的基礎,同時為其順利通過大學英語四級考試提供足夠的知識儲備。

2. 課程的基本要求

(1) 閲讀理解能力:能夠基本讀懂一般性題材的英文文章,閲讀速度達到每分鐘55詞,在快速閲讀篇幅較長、難度略低的材料時,閲讀速度達到每分鐘80詞,掌握中心意思,理解主要事實和有關細節。

(2) 書面表達能力:能用常見的應用文體完成一般的寫作任務,能描述個人經歷、事件、觀感、情感等,能就一般性話題或提綱在半小時內寫出110詞的短文,內容基本完整、用詞恰當,條理清晰。

(3) 翻譯能力:能借助詞典對題材熟悉的文章進行英漢互譯,英漢譯速為每小時200個英語單詞,漢英譯速為每小時150個漢字。譯文基本流暢,能在翻譯時使用適當的翻譯技巧。

(4) 推薦詞彙量:掌握的總詞彙量應達到2800個單詞和400個詞組,其中1000個單詞為積極詞彙,即要求學生能夠在認知的基礎上學會熟練運用,包括在口頭表達以及書面表達兩個方面。

reaction, range, encounter, presentation, impress, consistent, depress, conscious, make up one’s mind, range from…to…, focus on, be committed to, be absorbed in, drive sb. crazy, take…seriously

(2) Structure:

①Reading: Reading for the main ideas in paragraphs;

②Writing: Learning to write a paragraph starting with a general statement and a list of examples to

support it.
